Growth in entrepreneurship courses

Over the last 3 years the number of students doing entrepreneurship courses in the Øresund Region has nearly doubled and approx. 50 % more courses are offered. Entrepreneurship and innovation have really been put on the students' agenda. The latest report from Øresund Entrepreneurship Academy reveals this very positive development.
The report shows that the positive development continues, not only with regard to the number of courses in entrepreneurship that are offered, but courses are also more focused on entrepreneurship as well as more students follow these courses. A comparison of the number of courses offered in 2007 to 2009 shows an increase of 46 % whereas the number of students following the courses has grown by 100 %.
The percentage of students who have participated in entrepreneurship education in the course of one year was stated to be 2.1 in 2007. This number has risen to 4 % in 2009. International studies at foreign universities generally indicate the number of students participating in entrepreneurship education sometime during their studies, similar figures for the Øresund Region will be about 5 % in 2007, about 8 % in 2008 and a rough 10 % in 2009.
Compared to the goal that 15 % of all university students in the Øresund Region in 2015 have followed a course in entrepreneurship sometime during their studies, this report shows once again that the field is in the middle of a positive development. In autumn 2009 we registered the highest number of courses in entrepreneurship ever and as well, we see a growing interest in the creation of new courses and an improvement of already existing courses. A lot of work has been put into this by universities, organizations and individuals, but in order to reach the goal and bring the Øresund Region to an international level these efforts must be carried on.
